Dragana Kršenković Brković is an author of novels The Atellan Farce and The Lost Seal, story collections The Master’s Palace and The Fire in Alexandria, a collection of plays Behind an Invisible Wall, and children’s books –The Secret of a Blue Crystal, The Genie of the Manito Lake, Secret’s Secret and Musician with Cylinder and a Flower on His Lapel.

She has been nominated for the 2008-2014 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, the world’s largest award for children’s literature founded by the Swedish government.

Her book of fairy tales The Genie of the Manito Lake has been chosen to be part of the White Ravens 2011 by the Internationale Jugendbibliothek in Munich. The White Raven label is given to 250 books of international interest that deserve wider reception due to their innovative artistic and literary style.

Her two novels, The Lost Seal (2009) and The Atellan Farce (2012), were nominated for the Meša Selimović Award (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Two of her stories, The Maiden’s Rock and The Fire in Alexandria, were included in the syllabus of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, the University of California in Berkeley. Her story The Maiden’s Rock is part of the anthology of women prose writers from seven Balkan countries titled 12. Women. Voices. This anthology was published in Skopje, Macedonia.
Her book Secret’s Secret was selected for the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava (2011). She won the award for the best children play for a fairytale The Marvelous Star (1990).

She has been a guest writer in the Writers-in-Residence programs in Vienna (2011) and in Pécs (2013). She spent a year in the United States as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow in a Fulbright exchange program (2005-2006). As well, she was a OeAD research Fellow at the Karl-Franzens-Universität, and at the Institut für Slawistik in Grac (2008).
