Lebenslauf:
Carla Cabanas, born in 1979, lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. Graduated in 2003 in Visual Arts at the School of Fine Arts and Design at Caldas da Rainha and continued studying and specializing until 2009.
Her work has been awarded the Honorific Mention on the Photography Prize Purificacion Garcia, in 2012, and the third prize in Ariane de Rothschild Painting Award, 2005. In 2010/2011 received a scholarship granted by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture to work in David Claerbout studio in Antwerp, Belgium.
Cabanas’s work has also unfolded into artistic residencies, namely in Berlin (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Lisbon (Portugal), São Tomé (São Tomé e Príncipe), Alvito (Portugal) and S.Miguel (Azores - Portugal). She exhibits regularly since 2000.
