Anne van Oppen founded "anne en anna, studio for critical art pedagogy & mediation" in 2013 and holds a Master in Comparative Arts and Media Studies from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (NL). Stemming from the interest in possible human behaviour instigated by the encounters with art, Anne has done research on the dialectic of symbolic and physical iconoclasm. Currently she is focusing on the functioning of compulsive (daily) routines and certain spiritual & religious rituals to gain insights into the functioning of immediate human experiences. Anne makes use of action research methods and collaborative writing processes to explore the experiences and encounters between the public and contemporary art. She develops public mediation projects and lecturing programmes for organisations for contemporary art and higher education, amongst which are M HKA, Museum for contemporary art, Antwerp, Willem De Kooning Academy for Fine Art, Rotterdam and Z33, house for contemporary art, Hasselt.
