20 Years of Working in Culture and Education -
20th Anniversary of KulturKontakt Austria

For 20 years, KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) has been working at the interface of culture, education and dialogue, generating important  impulses in the fields of education and culture both in Austria and in Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

KulturKontakt Austria’s experience and expertise constitute an important basis for meeting the challenges of the future. Innovative planning and implementation will increasingly define the organisation’s profile in the years to come: the first steps in this direction have already been taken at the organisational and strategic planning levels.

Looking back on KulturKontakt Austria’s achievements of the past 20 years, it must be emphasised that it takes a great number of dedicated people to implement such a diversified and ambitious programme in a future-oriented way. On behalf of the Members of the Board I should therefore like to express our special thanks to the entire staff of KulturKontakt Austria for their hard work and commitment.

Dr. Anton Dobart, Head of Division I for Schools Providing General Education, Educational Planning and International Affairs, Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture
Chairman of the Board, KulturKontakt Austria

KulturKontakt Austria Celebrates 20th Jubilee

In 2009 KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) will be celebrating its twentieth jubilee with a number of special events. Our aim is not only to showcase typical examples of the work we have done over the past years, but also to develop perspectives for future activities. We cordially invite you to join us.

We also see our anniversary as an occasion to express our thanks to those who have given us financial and moral support: first and foremost, the Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture; the staff of KKA, whose expertise, hard work and commitment have been pivotal in making our work a success; our partners in Austria and abroad, whose solidarity has helped us build our reputation and gain recognition and, not least, the critical and faithful friends who have provided us with many important impulses.

We look forward with confidence and eagerness to the challenges that the spheres of educational and cultural policy will bring us in the coming years, secure in the knowledge that by keeping KulturKontakt Austria flexible both in its strategies and in its orientation, we will continue to accomplish our objectives.

Mag. Gerhard Kowař, Director
