KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) 
is a European competence and resource centre for education, culture and the arts, focusing geographically on Austria, Eastern and South Eastern Europe. KKA operates as an Austrian institution on behalf of and supported by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture. The core areas of activity of this non-profit organisation are cultural cooperation, arts sponsorship, cultural education in schools, and educational cooperation. Over 60 staffmembers implement KKA’s multifaceted programmes.
In its work, KKA is committed to the fundamental principles of educational and cultural policy formulated at European level, namely lifelong learning, diversity and inclusion. Based on these principles, KKA designs its activities and programmes with the objective of facilitating equal access to education, culture and the arts for all.

SPONSORS AND CLIENTS

KulturKontakt Austria works with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture (BMUKK) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). KulturKontakt Austria received its core financing 2008 (about 70%) and 2009 (82,68%) from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

Placement of a strategic focus on diversity, participation and sustainable development as central aspects of our work

Integration of the organisations ÖKS Österreichischer Kultur-Service (ÖKS) and Büro für Kulturvermittlung (BKV) into KulturKontakt Austria; their areas of activity “cultural communication” and “cultural education” become a new programme focus for KulturKontakt Austria in Austria.

Location of the office of the »Task Force Education and Youth« of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe at KKA

Establishment of a project initiative for the generation of third-party funding to finance education projects in South Eastern Europe
