Since the autumn of 2010, in cooperation with the Serbian National Education Council and international experts, a series of round table discussions have been held on topical subjects related to developments in education in Europe. In-Service Teacher Training at Primary Schools
In the autumn of 2010, at the recommendation of the Serbian Ministry of Education, the project partner “Education Forum” conducted in-service training for teachers in 20 financially weak municipalities of Serbia. Altogether, approximately 600 teachers received training in "Modern Methodology and Didactics / Active Learning" in the context of this project.
Strengthening the Serbian Network on Inclusive Education (Special Educational Needs/SEN)
In 2010, the Serbian Ministry of Education established a support network on inclusive education for the nation’s teachers and schools. The network was conceived as an open system aimed at promoting an exchange of experience between the members. In cooperation with KKA, a project was developed, the central focus of which is to develop a sustainable cooperation structure. Exchange is to be cultivated through regular meetings, at which international experts will also share their experiences.
tour.reg Serbia
Since April 2007, the project “tour.reg” has been implemented at twelve tourism schools in Serbia. The objective is to support the development of practice-oriented tourism education and training in accordance with international standards of quality. In cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Education, the following focuses were set for the current and final phase of the project (2010-2012): school management for principals, training of multipliers in theoretical and practical subjects, publication of a teacher’s handbook on the subject of “tourism and marketing”, and the preparation of a manual for summer traineeships.
The project “tour.reg” is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the context of Austrian Development Cooperation and by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.
ECO NET Serbia
The project “ECO NET” was begun at five Serbian commercial schools in March 2005. The objective of ECO NET is to introduce the new, practice-oriented “training firm” teaching/learning method on a widespread basis in order to promote the development of labour-market-relevant key qualifications. An additional aim is to promote trade and exchange between schools at both the national and international levels through a training firm network. In the context of ECO NET Serbia, a service centre and a virtual bank were established in 2005, with which a total of 160 training firms at some 30 commercial schools are already registered. In cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Education, the following focuses were set for the current and final phase of the project (2010-1012): further training of teachers by multipliers trained during the project, quality assurance of the training firm system, and the provision of support in establishing the training firm method sustainably in the school system.
The project “ECO NET” is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation and by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.
