The aim of the project is to support the development of practice-oriented tourism education and training in accordance with international standards of quality.

The concluding phase (until March 2012) focuses on quality assurance in practical training in schools and during traineeships. To this purpose, for instance, a manual for summer traineeships is to be developed and adopted. In addition, teaching materials are being developed and teachers are being given more intensive training in new teaching/learning strategies. This phase also focuses on the enhancement of cooperation between schools and the business sector.
The project is funded by Austrian Development Cooperation and the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

ECO NET

The objective of the project “ECO NET” is to introduce the training firm learning method on a widespread basis at vocational secondary schools. In the context of a simulated business world that involves interacting with real partners in the same country as well as abroad, this innovative, practice-oriented teaching and learning method promotes the development of key qualifications such as entrepreneurship, the ability to work in a team, flexibility, the ability to cope with stress, competence in decision making, conflict resolution skills and intercultural sensitivity.
ECO NET was begun in Montenegro in 2003 and is currently in its concluding phase (January 2010 to the end of 2012). The training firm teaching/learning method is now a part of the curriculum at all commercial schools in Montenegro. Other schools also have the possibility of offering training firm learning as an optional subject.
The final project phase focuses on quality assurance in training firm teaching and on the support of the service centre. In addition, the international networking of Montenegran training firms is being enhanced through participation in international training firm fairs and the promotion of international trade between training firms.
The project is funded by Austrian Development Cooperation and the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) – Inclusive Vocational Education and Training

In its initial phase, this project aims at supporting six Montenegran vocational schools in their efforts to institute inclusion with respect to students with special needs. The main focus is on in-service training of teachers in a range of issues related to inclusion in the specific context of vocational education and training. In addition, multipliers will be trained, who will then be able to support vocational schools in dealing with inclusion issues.
