Understanding Learning, Guiding Learners – Capacity Building for Regional Education Managers
The aim of this project is to enhance the professionalism of an interdisciplinary group of 25 teachers working as regional education managers in the field of in-service teacher education. The new National Framework Curriculum, with its focus on pupil-centred and competence-oriented teaching/learning, requires a paradigm shift in teaching and in-service training. At the final conference at the beginning of July, the project participants discussed their experiences with a broad circle of interested education experts.
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
An interdisciplinary target group of teachers and school principals was given training to qualify them as ESD multipliers. In the course of the project, the participants developed and implemented school projects on the subject of ESD. The documentation of these school projects was published by the Education and Teacher Training Agency in a handbook that the multipliers can use in their future seminars. In addition, a training course comprising six one-day modules was developed, which the multipliers, working as external staff of the Education and Teacher Training Agency, will conduct at the local and regional levels.
School Management for Principals III
School principals, who constitute key figures in the quality development processes of their schools, need support in the areas of both operative administration and strategic leadership of the school, particularly in the initial phase. An appropriate in-service training module was conducted for a group of 50 young principals.
