ECO NET
The objective of ECO NET is to introduce the training firm learning method on a widespread basis at vocational secondary schools throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. By introducing this new methodological approach, the project makes a contribution to the modernisation of business education at vocational schools and at the same time promotes the development of labour-market-relevant key competences in young people.
The following institutions are project partners: all the education ministries of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Federal Ministry of Education, the Ministries of Education of the 10 cantons, the Ministry of Education of the entity Republika Srpska and the Education Department of Brcko District); the Pedagogical Institutes; the Ministry of Civil Affairs; the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education (Banja Luka). The current and final phase of the project (2010-2013) focuses on the further training of teachers by multipliers trained during earlier phases as well as on quality assurance, the establishment of the training firm method within the education system, the publication of a training firm textbook, the provision of additional equipment for the schools, and project evaluation. The project is financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the context of Austrian Development Cooperation and by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.
tour.reg
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project “tour.reg” has supported the development of practice-oriented and labour-market-relevant tourism education and training in secondary schools with a focus on tourism since 2007. The project focuses on in-service training for teachers and on improving cooperation between schools and the business sector.
The following institutions are project partners: the education ministries of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Federal Ministry of Education, the Ministries of Education of four cantons, the Ministry of Education of the entity Republika Srpska and the Education Department of Brcko District); the Pedagogical Institutes; the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education (Banja Luka); nine tourism and culinary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the current and final phase of the project (2010-12), focuses are being placed on: quality assurance in practical training, networking of schools with the tourism industry, preparation of a manual for practical training inside and outside the schools and the systemic implementation of the measures taken.
The project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the context of Austrian Development Cooperation and by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.
School Management
The school management project contributes to quality development in the context of school management in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is based on the project results of previous international projects in this field (in particular MIOS and CES).
Three modules for in-service training and one for advanced training are being conducted at each of five locations. This also promotes exchange of experience and the nation-wide networking of the 110 participating school principals. At present, a manual for first-year principals is being developed in cooperation with the relevant institutions of education and the trainers teaching the modules.
